I know but the issue is that that GT turbo is the same model year of my car which both have taken depreciation/mileage hits so a lateral move makes not a lot of sense as I doubt there is a zero mileage 09 GT sitting on bricks somewhere. I heard the dealer can do STI upgrades like suspension and possibly even turbo. I hate buying used because I know with new that I the car wasn't doing donuts in any parking lots....lol.

there is an FAQ posted in the normally aspirated section that covers the 2.5i

 

but as for a sti or turbo swap......that's pretty much a pipe dream due to the costs and man hours required, since you'd have to swap the entire drivetrain from another car into the 2.5i chassis basically....(powerplant, transmission, diffs)

 

as others have said, better off starting with a GT
