I used the search function, and it appeared that for a 1997 Legacy (I own one as of a few hours ago), it can use the 97-01 Impreza RS Shortshifter like here: http://www2.kartboy.com/x4/product.php?productid=16171&cat=260&page=1 Is that the right one to order? Second, there is a severe amount of slop in the shifter, that is solved by replacing the shifter linkage, right? Hill holder-what is it that frequently fails on these? The previous owner cut off the cable for hill holder to work, so I'm guessing there is more wrong than just the cable missing? Cruise control doesn't work, where should I look there?
