nicholaschase29
Hey guys. The po of my 05 legacy out in an oem smfw 5000 miles ago. I'm pretty set on going with a bnr 18g and 93 octain tune. I also want a second map for e85. I'm wondering what the holding power of this clutch is good for. I want to go get it tuned after the new turbo goes inbut don't want it slipping on the dyno. Will this setup hold the power or will it at least make it through the tuning session?
Moderators BarManBean Posted November 21, 2013 Moderators Share Posted November 21, 2013 Do mean to say that an OEM clutch with a new SMFW was installed? Because you don't mention anything about an actual clutch in your post, just the flywheel. The flywheel will have zero impact on holding capacity--your clutch disc / pressure plate will have an effect though. iNVAR
You don't have an OEM clutch, at least not the 05 OEM clutch, because that requires a DMFW. If you have a SMFW, then the clutch has been swapped out to something else. Either a 07+ LGT clutch, or an aftermarket.
mwiener2
If you have an OEM anything 5mt clutch, it's gonna slip over 280ftlbs. My Mods List (Updated 8/22/17) 2005 Outback FMT Running on Electrons
