ofdmguy
I have a 98 legacy wagon, and I recently replaced rusty fuel fill neck (heard it's a common problem). I did the job when I was out of town near closing time. The car shop couldn't order vapor purge valve assembly for me. Is there any problem if I drive around without the valve assembly? spooln30
The sole purpose of the purge valve is to send the gas vapors from the fuel tank into the engine so the vapors don't just vent into the atmosphere. You'll be ok besides a CEL but you'll have to get it fixed to renew your plates. If that's how your state works. Here in WI we just register our toys up north so no emission testing. Hehe.
