runner420
Hey so im new with cars and I own a 1996 Subaru Outback Legacy. And I found the FWD fuse and I put it in the fuse slot. But I didnt feel any difference in the driving. Is there more to switching it from FWD to AWD or do I just pull the fuse out?
spooln30
Take that fuse out right away. That is used for diagnosing drivetrain problems and WILL NOT make your Subaru FWD. If you leave it in there you will cause issues.
Stang70Fastback
Well, let's be clear here. It WILL make the car FWD (you should see a red FWD light come on in the instrument cluster.) However, there is a whole lot of debate on these forums about whether or not driving around in FWD is bad for the car. spooln30 is right in that this is really only a diagnostic feature that's supposed to be used to help narrow down drivetrain issues, or to be used in the event of a flat tire.
