Stoping Existing Rust

Recommended Posts

Howdy all!

I just picked up an '05 GT Wagon from Chicago. Just got back from a local shop to have her combed over and everything checkout good. When she was lifted up, I noticed a decent amount of rust on suspension parts, the rear pumpkin and bolts/hardware(Especially in the rear of the car), and the exhaust(which I know should be excepted, but alot for a 2 year old car).

I'm assuming the previous owner did not bother to wash the undercarriage after driving around in salt and when things dried up.

None of it is a serious concern, but none the less I would like to stop it before it gets worse.

Any recommendations on how I can treat the existing rust? Any would be greatly appreciated.

Maybe I'm being anal, but I had a '78 Toyo Lancruiser FJ40 and I KNOW what rust can do in the long haul.:icon_wink

Cheers!

Yo Han
