boxkita
Given the amount of time I've been on this forum, I'm somewhat ashamed to admit I've never done any engine work on my car. Whether I was lucky or had lots of bucks to pay someone else is not relevant. Times have changed and I can no longer "outsource" my engine work. So bring it... With that out of the way, my stage 4 wagon started blowing white smoke after a dozen or so hard slalom runs back in May. I limped it home. Then took it to my shop of choice for a second opinion. They agreed that the HGs were on the way out (little black floaties in the upper coolant tank), as well as the radiator being toast. Me, being somewhat paranoid and desiring to avoid more drama, parked it and bought another car. Now, many months later, after, in a moment of weakness, confessing to Mrs Boxkita that I was trying to find a sponsor who would be willing to finance the conversion of said wagon into a racecar; I can choose to sleep in the car or I can sell it. As the days of sleeping in my car still do not bring good memories, I need to fix it and sell it. As noted above, a change in finances means I'm doing this job in my garage with my tools and likely borrowed tools and hopefully some more experience help. Given my tendency to incur drama with this car, feel free to comment/suggest/heckle as you see fit. I'll try to share my adventures with pictures and words. Although I do have a deadline, so at some point, I may get frustrated and part it out. So... Build my car Boxkita Track days

boxkita
So, I'm driving home thinking about taking the car apart. Pretty soon, I'm thinking of what else I could do, too. By the time I got home, I'd ported/polished the heads, added ELH, racing radiator, Infamous hose kit, Crawford AOS, custom single outlet exhaust, put on the aero bits, and thinking about caging it. Then I remembered why I was doing my own engine work. G'damn lotto. Build my car Boxkita Track days

magnusonsubie
In for possible and inevitable future need to do myself. I have the same problem of thinking about all I want to do. I sketched out an priced a $20,000 fully closed deck engine build with all forged internals, larger cams, and all kinds of other stuff that would just end up causing damage to the car itself.
