underground000
Some of you guys dont want the holes to be visible after you take off your front license plate. This is what I did.http://i596.photobucket.com/albums/tt49/underground000/License%20Plate%20Mod/IMG_0478.jpg?t=1288399787 I bought this bracket at Auto Zone for ~$10, no its not invisible, its already mounted when I took this pic. Its a good idea to paint it black so its less visible...http://i596.photobucket.com/albums/tt49/underground000/License%20Plate%20Mod/IMG_0477.jpg?t=1288399531 It has 2 types of screws to mount the plate. 1 set with a nut to secure it and 1 set with coarse threads. I chose to use the one with a nut. I did not take a picture but you will have to notch the foam bumper beam because the foam is really close to the bumper and the screws will hit the foam. Pics after it is installedhttp://i596.photobucket.com/albums/tt49/underground000/License%20Plate%20Mod/IMG_0473.jpg?t=1288399785http://i596.photobucket.com/albums/tt49/underground000/License%20Plate%20Mod/IMG_0474.jpg?t=1288400044http://i596.photobucket.com/albums/tt49/underground000/License%20Plate%20Mod/IMG_0478.jpg?t=1288399787 I wished I mounted it further back so it doesnt stick out soo much...I thought about it when I was test fitting but thought the plate could rub on the bumper...http://i596.photobucket.com/albums/tt49/underground000/License%20Plate%20Mod/IMG_0479.jpg?t=1288399788 Found this little guy on a old thread...Ive been using it as the rear license plate thats why its dirtyhttp://i596.photobucket.com/albums/tt49/underground000/License%20Plate%20Mod/IMG_0476.jpg?t=1288400147 5eat downshift rev match:) Powder coated wheels: completed:)

theGeneral
Why not just use some of that angle bar with all of the holes drilled into it from Home Depot?
underground000
Why not just use some of that angle bar with all of the holes drilled into it from Home Depot? Easier to use this instead of buying angle bar + finding screws and nuts, then dealing with cutting it later...lazyness... This comes with everything to mount it, and I think this looks better if someone were to see the bracket And if I really wanted to I can paint the bracket black and easily remove 2 screws (inner screws not outer ones) to not have front license plate IMO the car does look funny cause it seems like its smiling and it has buck teeth:lol: I have another LegacyGT license plate frame I forgot about, Im going to install it so the chrome screws wont look so out of place 5eat downshift rev match:) Powder coated wheels: completed:)
jp928
Seems your license mounts are different from those in Oz, or maybe its mine is an 08 gtb - builtin fixing points are in the bumper. Anyway, as delivered part of my plate hung down into the airstream going in under the bumper, which I think looks poor. So I got a piece of ~3/8" ply same size as plate, drilled the corners to fix the plate with. Then I lined it up so that the whole plate lined up with bumper, with little or nothing hanging down, and marked where the builtin screw holes were, and drilled it, countersunk so the screw heads were flush. Then I screw the ply to the bumper, then the plate to the ply. I painted the edges of the ply black to hide the fact that it was wood. Looks good to me. jp 08 gtb 6mt wagon
underground000
Looks good Your plates are different and you have a j-spec leggy:mad:, there are mounting points in the bumper, but I did not want there to be 2 screw holes after I removed the plate. Here in the states not all states require front license plates, and if I resale to someone else they may not be happy with the screw holes 5eat downshift rev match:) Powder coated wheels: completed:)
jp928
Agree about the holes - I would not drill there either. Just lucky the std holes would do the job with a little work. Plates bothe ends are mandatory here, but we get a choice of 2 sizes - my front is the small option. jp
Caleo
What happens when you hit some snow?
Turboturd
Hesperia doesn't get snow, or that much. If you plan on coming up here or to mountain high than you just either remove the plate, or gas it and hope for the best:spin: haha, car looks good. underground000
Sorry I didnt reply earlier Caleo. Like Tuboturd replied I do not get snow here, but there are 2 screws on each side I can easily remove to take off the plate. The furthest screw back... http://i596.photobucket.com/albums/tt49/underground000/License%20Plate%20Mod/IMG_0473.jpg?t=1288399785 5eat downshift rev match:) Powder coated wheels: completed:)
