amp583
I have a bent air stem pin - the actual tiny ass pin that gets pressed when inflating. I haven't been successful in straightening it using pliers. Anyone ever fix one of these? Is the air stem separate than the TPMS?
ras06LGT
It's not part of the TPMS. Just replace it. The part you bent is the valve stem core and they are removable. You don't really want it to leak even if you can fix it. The replacement parts and tools to remove it are super cheap at any auto parts store. Obviously your tire will go flat when you removed it - how much depends on how fast you are in changing it.
amp583
The good thing is, they're on a spare set of winter rims/tires that I'll be throwing on. Thanks!
cseagle08
They even sell those replaceable stems at walmart. I think you need a specific tool that usually comes with some of them. Something like this: http://www.walmart.com/ip/Slime-4-Way-Valve-Tool/16879919
StoplightAssassin
If you don't have the valve core removal tool, you can use two small allen keys. And if you ever need a valve core in a pinch, there's an extra one in your spare tire, just don't forget to replace it asap.
