weaveleftnright
Looking at getting new wheels for spring and would like to run 234x40x18 and don't want to roll the fenders or any other modifications. Question is what offset will I need on the wheel in order for them to fit? I know the tire I choose will depend also no specifics yet, looking at summer tires as I have a snow set already. All season will be done here in a week probably. Stock off set it +55 and a couple of the wheels I am looking at have been +44 or +48.

wpmarky
On Bilsteins & pink springs with 18x8 235x40x18 + 48 i had no rubbing. I first got rubbing with 18x8 +45 and 225/45/18, but I had lowered my coils pretty low to 1 finger gap all around. I then got my fenders pulled/rolled, and now run 18x8.5 +45 235/40/18. I've tried +35 18x9 245/40/18, but had to raise my coils up to 2.5 finger gap to prevent rubbing against the inner fender liner.
weaveleftnright
So in theory if I go with a +48 I can pull off the 235x40x18.
wpmarky
that has worked for me, it also depends on which tire you use. 235 on one tire might be wider or more square than 235 on another tire. I have alot of pics of the different setups I've tried on my build thread. Look for the pics with my MB weapon wheels. Those were +48 18x8. I used them on 2 different sets of lowering springs, pinks and ralliteks w/o problems. http://legacygt.com/forums/showthread.php/my-2008-spec-b-dd-and-track-build-budget-149616.html?t=149616
