Perrin turbo inlet issues

Recommended Posts

So was installing this over the weekend but the aluminum spigot is more forward than stock location so my bpv hose won't reach. Anyone else have this problem?

Notice the bpv spigot is before the first elbow on the stock inlet and after the first elbow on the Perrin inlet.

That has been talked about before. I think guy's just buy a short piece of hose and a nipple to connect it up.

One reason I went with a stock inlet. Makes life much easier.

305,600miles 5/2012 ej257 short block, 8/2011 installed VF52 turbo, @20.8psi, 280whp, 300ftlbs. (SOLD).  CHECK your oil, these cars use it.

Are you sure that Perrin is for the LGT? Mine isn't laid out in the same way as the one you have in the photo. Mine fits reasonably well and everything did fit as supposed to although mine is older and the aluminum BPV piece is clamped in rather than molded.

I just bought a samco silicon BPV hose, the added flexibility made it able to mate up just fine.

Don't remember having any issues with getting the pcv to hook up.

Perrin should really do a better job of alerting consumers that this isn't a perfect fit.

Surprised that a Perrin product doesn't fit perfectly.

You are? LOL

If it's not OEM, im never surprised that the fit is shit.

The PERRIN tmic also causes rubbing on the clutch slave cylinder for about 50% of users.

Where did you but the Samco BPV hose?!?

You'll also have issues with the PCV connection--note that it is vertical instead of horizontal as the stock hose is. A piece of prebent hose from the auto store can remedy this.

If the PVC connection is the port closest to the turbo then I had no problem connecting it either. Instead of cutting the rubber hose as the Perrin instructions say to do, I used tin snips to cut the clamp off the PVC hose connecting to the "white sensor plug" and just pulled it out. This way I kept the natural bend of the hose. Put an extra hose clamp to secure the stretched stock hose to the Perrin elbow. Done.

yup, now that you mention it, that's what I did with the pcv as well.

I don't see how you did this. My Samco has a vertical nipple there while stock has a horizontal--just like shown in your pictures with the perrin. I also installed a brand new PCV assembly and no was was the hose going to make the additional 90* bend to face downward and connect to the Samco.

So this is what I came up with. Cut the end of the stock BPV tube off and clamped on a preformed ~45* heater hose.
