Question about turbo swap

I might be getting a legacy gt or hopefully a spec b if i can find one. Now i want to make some power out of this thing and i was thinking or swapping the turbo, what is a good size turbo and brand of turbo to get? I was told a gt30 or gt35 size turbo would make some sick power, but what stock engine components would i have to upgrade for the turbo swap?

For a gt35 your going to have to rotate the turbo because its too big to fit comfortably. That could be a little bit of a pain in the abs SO! What i would do, if you want some good, clean, reliable power, (im debating on it myself) get a 08 turbo off of an sti, weld shut the internal waste-gate, get an up-ipe with a external waste-gate on it. supporting mods (fuel, exhaust, etc.) Get a good tune and enjoy.

someone correct me of im wrong but a vf48? i think. look it up. im new to the legacy owners. i myself have a 05 sti right now

You might want to check out the bnr bolt-ons. 16G, 18G, 20G, and 68HTA. No big modifications required to install.

you can also do a vf52 swap. Its a direct bolt on and you dont have to change oil,coooling lines. with fuel and a propper tune you will be more than happy. Also the 5 speed can only handle about 320hp before things start to break

Not true! The 5MT can handle alot more. If you abuse it then stock power levels can break it. Also, it is not so much the HP that is hard on the trannie it's the TQ.
