Hi, 96outback thanks!

Some practical reasons for this upgrade: The south west corner of CO has very few radio stations. And the mountains and canyons make continues radio reception difficult out here. So I tend to use my iPod with a FM transmitter to the receiver. That works kinda ok, but I found a problem: When the LED’s are on, all I get on the radio is static. And the FM transmitter for the iPod stops working.

The Blaupunkt was both AUX 3.5mm input and an SD card reader. This gives me some better sound options in the Subaru. I have to admit it sounds great and it’s just nice having a new stereo in the car. Over all I’d say, the Blaupunkt has really nice features with out being gaudy at a very good price. And the install was a breeze.

Was wondering because I have frankenstein mix and match subarus suspension which are a nightmare to align, I guess in your case your using all parts with the same track, I want to do something similar to you on my 96L , I have 04wrx shocks and springs front and rear, the front looks lifted with the wrx setup in, now I am focusing on the rear.

Hi njdriver04, Is it possible you car had been in an accident at some point? Because my car also has a frankenmix of Subaru and after-market suspension parts. None of them from a '96 Legacy. And the my cars' alignment is perfect. The only other after-market parts i used are camber bolts in the rear. Edited by swcolegacyl

Mostly curious cause i want to do something similar to mine. Make it somthing your not afraid to go out on the fire roads to trail heads for hiking or camping. Was looking to see if you had any issues with interference when cycling the suspension after lifting it up.

Hey xrayspecs, I'd say go for it. My car has no rubbing issues, no braking issues, no alignment issues. No problems what so ever with the suspension. I've taken my Subaru on some really BAD roads. You can find old mining exploration roads out here that haven't been driven on in over 30 years. And so far, i'm pretty impressed with what the Subaru's is capable of.

Haven't had alignment issues (yet) , I have just seen other subarus on the alignment machine w/ issues. I want to put in outback rear crossmember spacers with the outback trailing arm spacers. Will i need the lift blocks under the rear tophats? I am uncertain about the size of the outback tophats versus the wrx tophats I have.

Yeah I'll also say I haven't had any issues at all. It actually rides better than when it was stock. I suggest anyone to do this lift. Super easy and fun!

Please list the lift components, you have and tire size.

Anyone with the forester suspension also running the forester front crossmember spacers and forester specific transverse link. I actually removed the spacer on my 04 XT but the XT is lowered

Hi njdriver04, If you read through this thread you will find all of the upgrades that i"ve done to my car.

Back out in Paradox, Co yesterday. Bull Canyon Colorado:

This is steeper then it looks. I was pretty amazed that I made it down and back up. This road is a dead-end, i had to return this way. Extremely difficult terrain to drive! But a lot of fun!

I know what you mean 96outback, I’m from New England. The same type roads: muddy, swampy, gravely and they turn into pavement too quickly. Out here you can find hundreds of miles of ruff but dry roads. Not see another person/vehicle, no cell service! And have really amazing views. In places that few know people about and fewer can get to. This is what my Subaru is setup for.

At the bottom of Bull Canyon is the home of Indian Henry Huff. An 1800's cabin still in remarkable condition for its age. The road to the bottom of the canyon is scary in spots. very narrow, rocky with steep cliffs. It’s an amazing drive, especially being able to make it back out.

The cabin is just to the left of the cars.

Hi swcolegacyl, I love your car, and I come across this thread while searching for info on how to lift my Legacy. Do the Outback and Forester struts interchange without mods? Do Forester struts give more lift than Outback struts?
