I was looking to paint my wheels in bronze, Before I order..How many cans would I probably need. And Would I need anything else..Like a scuff pad or the primer paint? The rims are like a alloy/metal. Any help would be greatly appreciated

Are you planning to just spray paint over the finish as it stands right now?

Basically outline the process I've done prior:

1) Thorough clean -- think brake fluid cleaner/degreaser

2) Sanding, sanding, and more sanding -- usually started with 320 grit, may go heavier and then tapered off to remove lines

3) Clean again (not as potent - but still enough to clear away sanded debris)

4) Mask off (if needed)

5) Primer sandable paint (fill in blemishes and give it a base to adhere) - then dry

6) Verify/resand if needed (and respray)

8) Paint then dry

9) Clear coat

As for how many cans you'd need - depends on the size truly.

I'd lean and say two primers, two-three paints, and one clear

Anyways .. DIY videos might be cheesy, but research helps

When I did it (wayyy back then) I used 1 can for 2 wheels, and 1 can of clear for 2 wheels

make sure you clean them really really good, and sand them

I very quickly got tired of the good and went to something more sleeper:lol:
