Former3G
Says that its a "Private Sale" though it seems to be a guy who purchased the car from a dealer auction just to resell as he has many other cars listed.. He claims timing belt, water pump and gaskets replaced at 117k by prior owner. But has no proof. Says that the prior owner told him and showed receipts at the "auction". I find that hard to believe especially since all of his ads say that the cars were "his". I believe it is FWD. Has just over 142,000 miles. Looking for a reliable car that I can use for a while after my current DD sells. What should I offer on this? He is asking $1400. "Selling my 1993 subaru legacy great family car just did tune up brakes timing belt and water pump at 117k it it a 5speed Manual has power everything runs great 4cyl pa inspected until 6/14 gas saver clean carfax no accidents clean pa title" http://images.craigslist.org/00d0d_7Y4KdtMyVng_600x450.jpg http://images.craigslist.org/00404_1j1gtB6r1IK_600x450.jpg

Former3G
93? $1000 tops if it runs great and doest over heat. Thanks. I was thinking that as well. Edmunds and KBB are in the $700 - $900 range, depending on condition. I hate to lowball, but definitely don't want to overpay.
GEE-OTTO
wow only 117K miles ! nice for the age looks clean but ill offer him $1200 max IF he has done all the mechanical freshening up that is claimed. That alone is worth the $300 over KBB.
05LGTLtd
It's pretty easy to pull the timing cover and see if the belt looks to be in decent shape, BTW. Look for cam seal leaks too. Also look at the steering rack. If it hasn't been replaced, there will be a mess of stuff downwind of it most likely. For safety sake, budget tie rod ends, ball joints and brake lines on a car this old. How are the tires? All I need now is a hill holder and a center passing light... Former3G
Unfortunately the car sold before I even had a chance to make an offer. I'm sure someone overpaid.
