anonymouse20910
Is there any easy way to remove a tune? I bought my second 05 lgt 5mt wagon about 2 months ago and it appears to have a tune. The car feels almost as fast as my 1st lgt wagon that had a stage 2 cobb ap tune. Everything appears stock, i.e, the up pipe, downpipe, and catback. I feel uncomfortable running in a "tuned" mode without the supporting mods. Any help would be much appreciated. Thanks.
MasAyinde
It could just be a healthy stage 1 tune and your first LGT was at stage 2 but not that healthy. You can check by using a laptop to pull a copy of the ROM from the ECU.
anonymouse20910
Thanks for the response. I think I'm just going to go stage 2 (parts-wise) and get a custom tune. mwiener2
Get the proper cables and check it yourself with opensource. Get a COBB AP and flash over anything that may be on there. Go to a tuner and let them deal with it. My Mods List (Updated 8/22/17) 2005 Outback FMT Running on Electrons
iNVAR
Download the ROM, open it up in RR, that will tell you for sure what's going on with your car. Yeah, it might look stock, but maybe all the cats have been gutted....
anonymouse20910
FYI. New Cobb AP was able to overwrite whatever tune was on there. Running smoothly now with Cobb Stage 2 map.
Moderators BarManBean Posted April 5, 2012 Moderators Share Posted April 5, 2012 So wait, your selling the red wagon with all that work done on it because you picked up a second one? But why??? anonymouse20910
So wait, your selling the red wagon with all that work done on it because you picked up a second one? But why??? the tense in my post above was incorrect. should have said "Ran smoothly with Cobb..." because i sold the red wagon tonight. reason for selling red wagon: boss (read wife) approved buying a new car.
