garbo41610
If you're not into high quality bass (accurate bass) then it will be fine. It will go loud, but will sound muddy and all over the place.

garbo41610
A sealed enclosure does tend to be a bit "tighter" so to speak. But I'd steer clear of this, you will just end up disappointed, unless all you want to do it rattle your boot lid and number plate. Go out and get yourself a decent 10" or 12" sub by Image Dynamics etc and build a ported enclosure tuned correctly and power by a decent amp and you won't look back. slimfast
okay thanks again guys, i ended up not buying it (for now). do any of you have some suggestions on a budget sub/amp combo? im not looking to have the best sub but just some nice clean added bass you can feel. and sorry if this has been covered before as im sure it has.. and your thoughts on this will be appreciated as well: Kicker SS 100 speaker enclosure, LA Sound phat watts 240 amp, Depth Charge DC200 amp w/wire & cables good/bad deal? shit sub? i liked the fosgate because it was sub and amp in one, i like the idea of that but this is cheaper. garbo41610
pretty poor subs powered by no name amps... forget it. What is your budget??? You really won't get decent bass (just loud muddy bass) from cheap gear. You will want to spend around $300 on a good entry level sub and probably another $250-$300 on a decent-ish 4 channel amp. You can then bridge channels 3 and 4 for the sub and use channels 1 and 2 for your front speakers. To name a few in no particular order: subs: Image Dynamics Morel Focal PPI Boston Acoustics JL Audio Crescendo Seas Rainbow CDT Cerwin Vega Hertz Amps: Audison ARC Zapco Diamond Audio Phoenix Gold PPI Focal Hertz Orion - There is a specialist car audio installer here in Sydney, Aus that has a pretty decent entry/mid level package for $800. To give you an idea. CDXGT600UI (CD/USB/receiver/AUX input/iPod)Orion Cobalt CO600.4 (four channel amplifier)Orion Cobalt CO652 (6.5" & 1" component set)Orion CO124SBX (enclosed 12" subwoofer)
slimfast
damn.. i guess its more expensive than i thought to get into this. i will have to do some more research and try to find something in the middle price wise.
garbo41610
Kicker, Rockford Fosgate and all that will get loud but if you are all interested in sound quality, you will want to look into specialist driver manufacturers like I have mentioned above. You can sometimes pick up some 2nd hand bargains here and there on eBay etc.
Ferenczy33
Some of the finest car audio amps ever made...and getting ready to make a comeback. http://www.linearpower.com/ The first amp I ever bought was a Linear Power 652IQ in 1989, and it still works today. BobGee
damn.. i guess its more expensive than i thought to get into this. i will have to do some more research and try to find something in the middle price wise. Lots of used stuff can be had at a good price you just have to be careful and know what you are buying. Car audio is one of those things where you need to do research before spending money it's to easy to end up unhappy.
Drift Motion
I have a Rockford Fosgate P300? amp and their P2 12 inch sub I'm happy with it, spend less than $200 total but then again, I'm not all that into audio, just wanted something to fill in the bass and since the previous owner put in the wiring already...why not? jssmith6
You can't go wrong with a JL. try sonicelectronix.com. Great deals, great service. you can call them with any questions and they have the answers. got my JL W3 for much cheaper than a local audio store. JL's hit clean and clear, paired with a good amp, and you'll love it. I don't listen to rap, just alot of DMB, so i like clear. hope that helps. garbo41610
Slimfast, none of those are what I would consider high quality. Nor will they give you quality bass. JL Audio do make some decent subs but over the last few years they have become a bit mainstream and the quality has shown this.
