For now, here what I got, but I want other opinions :)

Plus for LGT are :

- Heated seat (I know I'll miss that in winter)

- Dual Zone AUTO climate (Never got that in my car, but I love the one in the Altima 3.5SE of my GF)

- More sleeper look and classy look (Less cops, less eyes (and theift))

- More confort and conveniant (sp?) (seat, dash info options, etc...)

- 3 year newer...

Plus for the wagon are :

- STi engine (more powerfull) and tranny (better and playfull)

- Already have guage, HID and wheels (and others things I would do)

- Unique look

- I could use my headunit without "hacking" the car.

THis post is in Canadian dollers:

You can pick up a stock 05 LGT for between $18- 20K right now.

This WRX is nice, but it's an 8 year old chassis. You can also pick up 2002 WRXs for 10-12K.

So him asking a 5-8K premium for the swap, wheels etc is out to lunch.

People who expect to get money out of their mods are delusional.

If you could get this WRX for 14-15K taxes in, then it might be something to consider. I would.

However you will be sitting in a stripper first year WRX that is fast as balls, but not much else.

Or you could be sitting in an LGT wagon for just a little more money, and enjoy it for longer.

Edit- I don't know how old you are, but if you are 18-25, prepare to be pulled over / chased / hassled by street racers, and cops on a daily basis. The LGT will present none of these issues for you, unless you slam it and put some huge wheels / exhaust on it.

Since the guys is asking 17800$, I don't think I'll be able to go as low as 15k$ taxes-in. I think I'll be able to go 16k$+tx... btw, I've been thinking a lot, and I prefer to have an LGT. It's pretty cool to have a fast and fun to drive car now. But I don't think I'll like it that much in 2-3 year. I'll prefer the LGT.

I've been dreaming/watching LGT since 1-2 years, don't think it's a good choise to get something else ;)

I'm 26 and I drive a ION Redline (big wing) :

I just got pulled like twice in 4 year. Even with my civic straight pipe I wasnt pulled often.

Maybe it's the way I drive, but cops leave me alone.

As for street racer, I got a lot of them... even 35+ boys on CTS (non-V) thinking they can get me :p I'm sure it's because of the big wing !

The trans is not better.

All that WRX/STi will do is make it all the easier to break that trans.

Plus, it's a bum deal without the girls.

not better ? Didn't STi V6 got LSD rear AND front ?

The likelihood that it's ACTUALLY a Version 6 trans is slim-to-none.

Too much other USDM stuff on the car. What it LIKELY is, is a STI-RA gearset (which was OE on the Ver.6 STi).

The only Version 6 STi that had a front limited slip was SOME of the STi RA Limited's and the S201.

If you have a trans code, I could tell you for sure.

Either way, it's still not a better trans.

I came from a redline too.. 06 here with comp pack. I went to an 07 LGT 5EAT and couldn't deal with not having a manual. I traded it in within about 10 days on an 08 spec b. I want to say go with the LGT, but that is a damn nice wrx/sti.
