_karu_
This is taken from the 1998-2003 Subaru Legacy manual. I thought this would be a good reference for other people on how to remove the pulley using the special crankshaft pulley wrench. http://legacygt.com/forums/picture.php?albumid=1586&pictureid=8070
_karu_
For the people out there who are not as well versed about pulleys and thinking about switching to lightweight pulley, you may want first to read the following FAQ I found in NASIOC (save yourself the headache): http://forums.nasioc.com/forums/showthread.php?t=444518 For the people out there who are questioning the use of the stock pulley as harmonic damper, the consensus out there seems to point that the stock pulley is in fact not a harmonic damper. However, according to the SAE Technical Paper on Subaru's Horizontally Opposed 4-valve engine (Thanks to wrxtuners.com moderator Vew), Subaru does call it a balancer. http://legacygt.com/forums/picture.php?albumid=1587&pictureid=8072 Just a thought.
