kensukikatayo
I need to put on a 5mm spacer with longer bolts. Does anyone know roughly how much pressing on longer bolts will be and potential problems to look out for? Thanks. 2007 OBP Legacy 2.5GT 5MT - vBGarage 2001 SSM 3.2CL Type-S
fweasel
use hubcentric spacers or go home. Eibach makes a quality spacer. ignore him, he'll go away.
mwiener2
Hubcentric or DIAF. H&R are good too use a piece of steel pipe and some washers and an impact driver to press the new studs in. it's not fun My Mods List (Updated 8/22/17) 2005 Outback FMT Running on Electrons
kensukikatayo
I'm looking at the H&R's now if anything, unless someone can vouch for the Ichiba ones. Would it be possible to use open-ended lug nuts instead of pressing on the extended lug nuts since it is only 5mm or is that unsafe? It's just difficult to justify the cost of pressing on the extended lug bolts for such a small difference. 2007 OBP Legacy 2.5GT 5MT - vBGarage 2001 SSM 3.2CL Type-S
mwiener2
open-ended nuts won't be any different than regular ones in this scenario.... unless you press in larger studs then run without the spacers My Mods List (Updated 8/22/17) 2005 Outback FMT Running on Electrons
kensukikatayo
It seems as if I have to press in the lug bolts no matter what? What would be the typical price for something like this? I got quoted $180 to press in lug bolts for all 4 corners and for the install of the wheel spacers (which is obviously easy except for the pressing). Thanks for the help Mike. 2007 OBP Legacy 2.5GT 5MT - vBGarage 2001 SSM 3.2CL Type-S
mwiener2
sounds like a good price. if you do it yourself you'll spend alot more time My Mods List (Updated 8/22/17) 2005 Outback FMT Running on Electrons
Paisan
Spacers are never a good option IMO. You are better off finding rims with the offset that clears whatever you are trying to clear. -mike
FX35B4
This is how they look with 20mm longer hub bolts. http://i261.photobucket.com/albums/ii56/fx35bl5/SANY0033-1.jpg Bought 10,8,5,3mm spacers and hub center rings.Right now,I'm using 5mm http://i261.photobucket.com/albums/ii56/fx35bl5/SANY0034-1.jpg This is how they look with open-ended lug nuts. http://i261.photobucket.com/albums/ii56/fx35bl5/SANY0049-1.jpg If you only use 5mm spacers, go for 10mm longer stud bolts. If you use thicker than 10mm spacers, go for 20mm longer one. Hope this will help you.

kensukikatayo
The more I look into this the less I want to do this.. axis008
Not a fan of Rotas.... So some good semi-low cost wheels I'd recommend are Work Wheels (XD9, XT7). There are always deals on NASIOC. Plus if you have 18s now, you could use the same tires. -ben
mwiener2
you can get wheels that fit over the brembos for about $100 a wheel My Mods List (Updated 8/22/17) 2005 Outback FMT Running on Electrons
