Hurricane Sandy

Well, this is my first heavy rain/wind storm in the new house. Hopefully she holds up, we've had a few heavy rains before, haven't really had water in the basement...here's hoping.

Whatever, as Forest says, sometimes it happens.

Yeah, I'll be working my day job 16hrs a day til it's over (work at the power company as my day job). Shop is closed until wed at a minimum cause I don't want the guys to trudge their way in for no reason.

We got hit in Edgewater, NJ badly.

Hudson river flowed into my 1st floor and garage. Luckily I smart enough to move my cars to higher ground prior.

No power at home or shop :(

Guess I better go to the other job to fix it! ;)

I'm on the south coast of RI, we got slammed pretty bad. Some houses floated out to sea, famous landmarks destroyed. The airport here recorded 94 mph before the weather thingy broke! As a life long New England resident I have never experienced wind like this. Crazy. Looks like a war zone. Hope everyone is safe.

Jusrt like jasejase said the coast here in CT got slammed and im sure everyone has seen/heard that NY and long island got hit very yard also. My parents dont have power the pic below is a tree that fell from the street and just grazed their house. My grandma in Northers NJ about 30 min outside NYC also does not have power. Thankfully I didnt lose power in Ellington, CT this time around.

I got to see some of the damage today on my coastal tour. I didnt make it down to the ocean, but i got to drive from norwalk to milford... and saw a ton of trees down, wires down, wind damage, and power outages. The daamge in CT is legit in my book.

Long Island is a mess. Trees everywhere, report is over 800k lost power. No one in my family has power and my girlfriends parents just got power back an hour ago. Walking around saw at a handful of houses with trees embedded in the roof.

I lost one tree, some how it managed to fall over my fence only hitting the top of the fence and landing in a wooded area next to my yard. The fence has broke a couple planks but in all its good.
