mnstrmech
Went back to my local LKQ where i got the sway bar and found a 94 with the same color interior. Got new-er great condition front seatbelts, and bunch of little misc parts. Sway bar is in and looking good. http://imageshack.us/a/img191/1630/g4z7.jpg http://imageshack.us/a/img153/8206/d6a0.jpg
USLiberty
That's some nice work! Hows it handle now? I built my grill today, came out pretty good. Also two toned the hood by sanding the flat white into a gloss. Car ran phenomenal on my last drive to California, smoked an integra, scion tc and an unsuspecting M6. http://i1065.photobucket.com/albums/u386/onefastlt/P8170200_zps72671e3b.jpghttp://i1065.photobucket.com/albums/u386/onefastlt/P8180206_zpsafd38f73.jpghttp://i1065.photobucket.com/albums/u386/onefastlt/P8180203_zps9ef5b423.jpg Edited August 19, 2013 by USLiberty
jp233
nice. I Had gotten a 97 Outback rear sway bar w/ both lateral links, for my 93 FWD wagon that didn't have a sway bar at all. The links were too long. I had to get the car done and out, so I never got to weld up brackets to make it work. It's still sitting in my garage, I am a mild pack rat and can't bring myself to scrap it. http://bbs.legacycentral.org/viewtopic.php?f=15&t=49973
skateaddict1
In the last few days it's been the thermostat, water pump and timing belt. It only took 2 tries to get the timing right . Water pump was straight forward first try. T-Stat.... omg what a headache... I couldn't get it to seal... the o-ring is impossible to keep in place in the upper housing (with the T stat) while trying to push the lower housing up into place! Not to mention the first one was non OEM... so I got another... probably 8 tries in total to get the 2 good seals.! In the end I used some gasket goo to set the o-ring and thermostat on the lower housing and carefully put it up into place. eek. Hope I don't have to do that again for a loooong time! -james

Mine was missing the "red" one. besides, my badge of ownership will go right below this. I think it looks a bit "classy". skateaddict1
Needs machining. Well, truly no. But it was .0015 out on the runout, so I decided to play it safe for the long run and get it done. Back fresh and clean tomorrow and I can start reassembling everything. Cant wait!
monkeyposeur
Sweet! Putting it all back together feels good. I dropped my motor back in and buttoned everything up and went underneath to install an axle and realized I forgot to put the engine mounts back on the block, lol. Cause .0015 is like 38.1 microns, kinda small and hard to measure without lasers or scanning electron microscopes.

A good quality straight edge and some tool makers feeler gauges do the trick. You're allowed .002 runout max on spec. I just chose to do it anyway even with the .0005 to spare. Bdubs
Spent quite a few hours troubleshooting a spurratic no start issue. After taking out the fuel pump, cleaning all harness connections, cleaning cam and crank harnesses, triple checking all the grounds, I am hoping I finally found my issue. The cam and crank harnesses were covered in oil from some blowby due to a loose intake hose, and oil found its way inside some contacts. 3 times now I've been stranded because of this phantom problem. Lets hope that was my trouble.
