SubaruLGT
Before i start, any help is appreciated. 05 LGT non-limited So i picked up a complete system from a friend for 20$ the other day and decided to commence with the install. Its a 12 inch alpine sub with an alpine amp and all the required wires. Everything went great with the install and the sound is much nicer than my stock system. About a mile down the road after the job was finished i got this P0453 code and my CC was flashing. I tried reading on other threads/forums but i didn't get much of an answer. Is it possible i pinched a wire under my rear seat when i ran the cables through, or does it have anything to do with the system i put in? Or can this just be a strange coincidence that occurred at the same time as my install.... Thanks everyone
garbo41610
Could just be a coinky-dink (coincidence) a quick Google Search brought up this... P0453 Evaporative emission control system pressure sensor high input http://www.subaruforester.org/vbulletin/f88/subaru-cel-codes-grouped-58908/
SubaruLGT
Ya, i dont see how the two could be related. Maybe im just unlucky... Ill start hunting down the wires to check for loose connections or shorts. Thanks for the help Garbo
ur a bus
Dumb question... Did you drill holes in the trunk floor to mount the sub or amp?
Dbl_D718
Make sure your gas cap is tightened correctly? That was my problem last time I got a CEL for an evap code. SubaruLGT
Gas cap is tight, i made sure of it. And i drilled two holes in the trunk in the deck where the sub would be if i had the premium sound system. I dont think thats the issue though. Ill keep searching for the problem. Thanks for all your help ppl
ehsnils
Just make sure you didn't damage anything on the back side when drilling those holes.
