Burnzy8151
Considering buying OEM tail lights and experimenting a little bit. I've read around that taking apart the tails can be difficult but maybe it would be worth it? Drove to Columbus this weekend and kept finding myself staring at Infiniti tail lights: http://img193.imageshack.us/img193/2947/0307in352dsmtl01.jpg Maybe something similar could be achieved with these?... http://www.superbrightleds.com/cgi-bin/store/index.cgi?action=DispPage&category=ACCENTS&Page2Disp=%2Fspecs%2FAE.htm Thought about putting one big ring on top with two smaller overlapping on the bottom. Or maybe a panel on top or vise versa.
planelazy
Tails don't come apart like the headlights do, you have to dremmel them open very carefully
Flat4
ArcTec34 did a pretty cool tail light mod. He did say it was a lot of work but it looks very good. Here's his thread: http://legacygt.com/forums/showthread.php/led-tail-lights-work-progress-107622p4.html Pics of finished product are on page 12. 4RunnerKid
any chance you could shoot a quick video showing the light output between taillight and brake light? it's kind of hard to tell in the pictures... i had LED bulbs in my 4Runner back in the day, and it was very hard to tell when the brake lights came on because the light output was almost identical between the two. i'd like to run some sort of LED setup in my XT, but i have somewhat of a sour taste in my mouth for LED bulbs after almost getting rear-ended once because of it (granted, there is no 3rd brake light on my 4Runner)
