TPLGT
I have had issues with my arm rest (I have the extender...never use it.) since last Summer. The thing would not lock and for the last 6+ months, it was open all the time. When I did open it to get something, it was very hard to open. I had some time today so I took it off. It turns out the hinge was locked up! I sprayed WD-40 on it and worked it in...took a while but now it works liek a champ...and closes. The stress must have not let the lacth close. There was no rust on the hinge...I'm baffled! Rehab is for quitters.
captainhook
The reliability isn't too hot on those things, mine sometimes refused to lock in while up and rattled. The dealer replaced it under warranty, no issues with this one.
ChubRock
those things had a warranty?! Damn wish I knew. I got my extender as a gift, after a few months it didn't latch close. It is loose as a goose and won't stay up on its own anymore. I haven't taken it apart to play with because it hasn't bugged me enough. But I would like to know if there is a way to fix it or should I just replace it.
NickB34
I had mine replaced under warranty as well. I pulled up on the latch and then the whole latch assembly fell to pieces.
