sungsg4
My 2007 LGT is getting high in mileage. I've put off the brake and coolant flush at the 90K service, but I am also nearing 105k for the timing belt change (currently at 97K). So I figure I'll just do everything at once. I had the local dealer quoted me on the following tasks to be done. Just wanted to see if any of these look out of whack: (All these below include parts & labor) *Timing Belt - $570 *Camshaft seal (4 of them) - $345 *Front crankshaft seal - $155 *Brake flush - $130 *Coolant flush - $167 *Oil Change - $55 Overall, I'm looking at nearly $1,500. Do these look to be in line? I'm in the SE Virginia area. If anyone has good recommendations for shops, I'm open for suggestions as well. Thanks. S. ras06LGT
Do you have reason to believe the camshaft seals or crankshaft seals are leaking? I would only have the dealer replace them if they find evidence of them leaking once they get everything aparts. If they are fine, you can save yourself $500. sungsg4
Thanks Ras. No - the dealer is merely suggesting the sealant replacement as a precaution. How long do the seals typically last? Or how do I know that they are close to leaking?
