Rear Swaybar Mount Bracket?

Recommended Posts

I did some research on this a few months back when I found out that my bracket was bent. My question is; Does the Avo bracket http://www.avoturboworld.com/avoshop/product_info.php?cPath=266_3_66&products_id=395

fit even without the OEM brackets in place? My bracket appears bent beyond repair and I'm looking to upgrade front and rear sways...

If your bracket is just bent (and not broken), I think you could "unbend" it by installing the AVO brace and then hammering the bracket until it's flush with the AVO brace. (Actually, just tightening down the sway bar mounting bolts might "pull" your factory bracket back until its flush with the AVO brace...)

If in doubt take your car to a panel beater they should be able to bend the OEM bracket back for you, or if it is totaly stuffed they could fabricate and weld a new one on for you using the AVO one as a guide :)

I used an approach similar to this without hammering. I loosely bolted the subframe bolts then installed the sway bar brackets onto the AVO. Once the sway bar brackets are in, finish the subframe bolts and this should bring the original brackets to its original position.
