We usually just put it on with a hot glue gun.

The seat stopper - referred to as a Tang stopper - fell of in the first month I owned my new 06 Legacy 2.5i SE and once fixed has fallen off twice since on the driver's side. Once I sewed two buttons together which worked for a while. I also tried a large metal snap similar to what you might sew on to close a skirt or pants. I think the problem is that the belt does not roll back into the holder and gets caught in the door which snaps the stopper button. It is a surprising design flaw in a Subaru.

I will return to the dealership and see if they can fix it again.

I actually had this happen recently -- driver side belt gets pinched so the tensioner can't roll it back up. Had to open the door sill and re-seat the slider.

I bought one of those tang stoppers and used a pair of pliers to snap it in place.
