Paint silver part of interior door panel

Recommended Posts

I just bought an 05 LGT wagon. The silver colored pieces in the doors by the window switches aren't in the best shape however and I would like to re-paint them. I'm curious as to what I will be looking at once I take the door panel off. Can I take this piece off separately to paint it?

This is the silver piece I'm talking about, thanks for any and all help

I searched and found a few threads pertaining to the paint color to re-paint or touch up, but nothing about if this piece can be actually taken off. I'm curious if it's held in by simple plastic screws or are part of the panel, or if the handle is going to be a problem

Don't know if this helps - but here is the inside of one of the rear doors...

The little black dots seem to be plastic welding I guess they could be cut or drilled out maybe and then find a way to fix it back together... I haven't tried yet though

I finally took the panel off and noticed that. Saw the plastic welds and just said "damnit". I was hoping for some plastic clips or screws. Could break the plastic welds and gorrilla glue them back. Don't know if I want to deal with the heat/reheat. Don't want to deal with the glue either for that matter. Damnit
