water in the cabin

I found water on the passenger side rubber mat twice. I noticed it coming from under the glove compartment close to the center console. I've yet to tear it down, I'm wondering if anyone have had this issue. If yes please let me know what I'm jumping into.

Clogged drain tube for the A/C. You can see it from the bottom of the engine bay. Blow it out with some air.

If it happens when it rains sun roof drains. If it happens when ever you have ac on its the ac drain.

Can confirm, beyond a shadow of a reasonable doubt, that that's your problem. Just hook a blow tip to a compressor and blow it out, alternatively a can of compressed "PC CLEANING" air will do the trick as well.

I believe it was with the AC on. Do you have a picture of the tube or placing? Do I have to lift the car? and thank you in advance.

Might be the drain tube. Have you had your windshield replaced recently? Could be the seal, too. There aren't that many places for water to get in.

Car will need to be up on ramps/jack/lift. The tube is on the passenger-side against the firewall. Can't miss it.

I actually had better luck blowing it out from inside the car. I removed the Four rivets on the trim piece under the glove box and looked up by the left side of the passenger footwell. There it was, a black rubber hose wrapped around a plastic nipple attached to a plastic box. Pulled it down and blew it out and stopped my leaks in the car. Blowing up didn't resolve it for me the first time

I blew the tube from inside the cabin and that's what it was. It's all good now.

Yep, that's a common issue on lots of cars.

So I had a large puddle in the ps footwell twice.

 

Had a subaru tech check the drain tube and he said it was clear.

 

No sunroof.

 

I saw water dripping from the blower area.

isn't the heater core near that area too?

A white tissue to collect the dripping, check the color.

 

• No color - condensation.
  
• Color - leaking core.
  
• Oily - leaking AC evaporator.
  

Im familiar with heater core leaks. Also no sweet smell.

 

If this much coolant had drained out my engine would be toast.

 

Going to run the ac the next couple days and try to track it down and report back.

So it's been two months after blowing out the tube and now the puddle is back.

 

Substantial water. No rain yesterday or last night.

 

Had the ac on a bit this morning.

 

The mystery continues.

Probably AC drain tube again. It is also possible it may have a slight kink in it, collecting the minimal amount of debris that can work into it. I had the issue fixed under warranty; they blew out the line and changed routing slightly.

Unfortunately not something I can look into until I'm at the shop but that's wasorinally checked by the dealer.

For me it was the AC drain tube. You can blow it out with a hand pump and a smaller hose to put inside the one of the car.

I think someone found that a spyder was building a nest in there tube. Blow it out agian.
