Steaming Legacy GT

Living in florida, Legacy Gt wagons are few and far between. I found an 05 on carmax with 75k on the clock for a decent price. Had it shipped down and drove it today. after a quick drive of maybe 3 miles there was steam coming from the grill when i returned. SHould this be an immediate red flag and pass on the car? They were going to take a look at it tomorrow.

I would think if it was oil that it'd be more smokey looking right? I vote for water somewhere that got hot and turned to steam. I would just have them do a good once over. Besides you have 5 days to return the thing and get your $$$ back!!! I would say if everything checks out take it to a subaru dealer and have them check it out and go from there.

I find it interesting a dealership would show you a car looking like that.

My wife and I went to a CarMax to look at an 05 Nissan Pathfinder, common problem on the VQ40 was timing chain guides, when the sales guy started it up it sounded AWFUL and he was playing it off as nothing.
