SubieBound
I tried doing a forum search but could not find anything that seemed to fit my situation (or maybe I'm doing it wrong). My problem is that on my way home yesterday, I heard a 'beep' and looked down at my gauges. To my surprise, the "Check Engine Light" was on, and both the "Cruise" lights and [sport] modes were flashing. The car manual says to take it in to the nearest Subaru dealer as soon as possible... Has anybody else had this problem before? Thank you for any help in advance!
AZP Installs
You will need a OBDII Reader to tell you what the code is for. It's most likely a misfire which could be a result of bad gas or something simple. Get an OBDII reader, read thde code, reset it and see if it comes back. -mike http://www.pbase.com/paisan/image/91072632.jpg http://www.pbase.com/paisan/image/133406601.jpg AIM: AZP Installs | E-mail: paisan@azpinstalls.com | 725 Fairfield Ave | Kenilworth, NJ 07033 | T-1 Certified Amsoil Dealer "Race Tested, Enthusiast Approved!" Max Capacity
Most any auto parts stores will read the codes for free. Remember to buy something from them every now and then. Oh yea, what you saw is normal. Most of us have seen it happen. 305,600miles 5/2012 ej257 short block, 8/2011 installed VF52 turbo, @20.8psi, 280whp, 300ftlbs. (SOLD). AZP Installs
Thanks for the help, guys! So I shouldn't rush off to the nearest dealership as soon as possible, just in case something is wrong? You should pull that code ASAP so you can find out what the issue is. -mike http://www.pbase.com/paisan/image/91072632.jpg AIM: AZP Installs | E-mail: paisan@azpinstalls.com | 725 Fairfield Ave | Kenilworth, NJ 07033 "Race Tested, Enthusiast Approved!" brakemans
I got the same thing just today. Thought it was something serious. I read somewhere that it could be that oil is low so I added oil and the light was gone. I just changed my car oil less than 1200 miles ago with Rotella 5w-40 T6 synthetic as most members here recommended it. When I checked my oil level, it was all the way down. It's no wonder the light was flashing.
