Put 2007 stereo in 2005 Legacy GT?

Is it possible to replace the 2005 HU with all the HVAC controls with a 2007 unit?

Yes, I want the option, without the boards, etc. mentioned in other threads. Perhaps the CleanSweep - but that's about the only option I want to take at this time.

how much will the factory head unit cost have any info on that ?

$500-$800 looking at how much the Spec B radiio is currently for the 06 model.

Bump to keep this up top. Not sure if the '07's are on the lots yet but I'm interested in this as well for the aux input.

you could buy a MUCH nicer stereo with an aux input for $800 and put it in the cubby.

 

i prefer mine in the cubby anyway - don't have to take my eyes off the road. i have an iPod into AUX1 and the factory 6 disc changer into AUX2, so its not just sitting there doing nothing.

I don’t think it’s a matter of a nicer unit in the cubby. Some people want a stock look. I personally think 2 radios look retarded. Thus a 07 cd player or a CS is the best route to go for an AUX in / MP3.

stereo has far more features than the stock unit, and with the AVO bezel, was only $500 total. i have subwoofer level control, steering wheel remote, auto or manual 108 band EQ, active volume, MP3, two aux inputs, 5V preamp outputs, staging and environment effects, and digital dual-diversity FM.

Yes, please post pics of that look. Some of the cubbyhole rigs I have seen look like jury-rigged messes.

All i am saying is that even if its a clean install i dont what two CD player in my car.

That part number says it's for a Impreza - SVX , sure its right.

hmm I emailed them at subaru parts and that is what they gave me. I shot them another email to double check...
