rs6er
My car is locked with lights in off position. License plate, and F&R parking lights won't turn off. I've had a few glasses of wine, but this is not making sense. What am I missing?

Subie018
You obviously topped off your blinker fluid (big no-no!). You need to pull on the "BLK FLD" drainage tab to relieve the built up pressure.....then they will turn off. Good luck!
rs6er
Quit sh-ting me. What's the problem? Checked doors and trunk. Started motor. Locked it. Still on. All I did different today was vacuum the whole car, wash the rubber floor mats, and put them back in. Is there something under the dash I could have hit? DrCloud
I've had (I think) three Subarus with this %#^$ switch, and for the first time the salesman the other day showed me the switch explicitly -- he turned it off (it was on, left by the detailer, I guess) and explained it. I didn't need the explanation. This time. But three cars ago, well, I was banging my head on the wall. I guess it's just one of those nice little Subaru touches. Subie018
as for what the switch is for..... maybe to turn on at night when pulled over on the shoulder of a road? parking on a street w/ no street lights temporarily? filling up at a gas station? nobody is really sure exactly why... But does the middle setting of the headlamp switch do the same thing?
