BAC5.2
I really, REALLY hope that's grade-8/10.9 hardware. Those kinds of cages are terrifying, in an accident, you are putting an awful lot of faith in the thin bracket holding the members in place. Don't forget padding! DrewBG5
The terrifying cages. nevermind, thought you might have a good story to go along with your statement. like, i carshed my car and the cage unbolted and stabed me in the chest and now i cant walk left. Something fun like that.

DrewBG5
Well the bottom brackets are gonna be welded in once i get the chassis prepped for seam and spot welding. just pulled the old padding off too cause it was gettin kinda ratty and i want to get some blue padding. I am just using the hardware Cusco sent with their cage. I trust them to give me the right stuff.
BAC5.2
Are you bolting the seats to the cage? I'm not TOO concerned with the mounting plates, that's an appropriate method of attachment for light duty and low-speed/power use. I'm concerned with tube attachment mounting. Thin brackets and extensive welding in close area (photos 2, 3, 5, and 6) make me nervous. A roll over at high speed is likely to be disastrous. The junction above the occupants heads is the most worrysome. If you are spending the money to seam weld the chassis, why not get a proper cage installed too? Is this a track-only car? No the seats wont be mounted to the cage. Not spending money(except for supplies) on welding the chassis. If i had even more money i would get a "proper" cage installed. This is my daily driver. I appreciate your concern for a strangers safty but Cusco has been doing this for a long time so i doubt they would be selling an unsafe product. BAC5.2
A cage in a daily driver? Why? Are you going to wear a helmet all the time? BAC5.2
You shouldn't drive a car with a cage as a DD, regardless of what happened to your main DD.
