What can I say- I just love this car. I could have upgraded, but I chose to keep the Legacy. (Ya. I’m crazy. I know) The Legacy breached 100k miles. It had head gasket leaks bilaterally. Needed timing belt and a catalytic converter and MANY other parts. The following projects were completed.

-Head Gaskets

-Timing Belt

-Spark Plugs

-Spark Plug Tube Seals

-intake manifold gaskets

-reseal oil pan

-Catalytic Converter

-Front differential flush

-Rear differential flush

-Brake flush

-Transmission flush

The Legacy runs like she is brand new. No matter what anyone says - I feel like I made the right choice. Call me crazy, but I love this car and it just gives me a certain nostalgia.

Great pictures, thank you.

I would love to do this to my car too, pull the engine, do both head gaskets and the clutch... I've never pulled an engine before though, not sure how long all of that would take me to do.

It's interesting how the gasket does look like it's missing material in the center like that, but it's also missing on the old gasket too it looks like..

One question:

How will the new gasket seal the cylinder completely since it doesnt have any material in the center?

See pic below

To answer your question. Here is a picture of the old and original head gaskets. It’s not missing anything sir, they are manufactured like that. Thanks for the compliment Btw! Check the link
