Lubegard trans additive

Recommended Posts

While trying to deceipher the ever ongoing debate over trans fluids to use in our Volvo that has the Aisin transmission, I saw someone mention Lubegard.

So I went searching to find out about Lubegard and I found a link where they mention Subaru 4WD. What's the scoop on this high friction modifier; has anyone used it in a Subbie? Do some subbie transmissions need HFM fluids?

"“Subaru of Switzerland, in an official technical service bulletin, recently recommended LUBEGARD Highly Friction Modified ATF Supplement (our black bottle), as a solution to reduce customers complaints of noise and/or chatter in the 4WD clutch of automatic transmissions.”

I also wonder? The black bottle has high friction modifiers. I went to the link I originally posted and it had --

“Subaru of Switzerland, in an official technical service bulletin, recently recommended LUBEGARD Highly Friction Modified ATF Supplement (our black bottle), as a solution to reduce customers complaints of noise and/or chatter in the 4WD clutch of automatic transmissions.”
