Mounted my XM skyfi today...

I decided to make a mount in the same place the proclip uses. I just bent some scrap metal. I will get the pro clip when I have the time ot order it online. I still have to order an FM modulator and the metra antenna adapters anyway. It is just running through the Skyfi's internal FM modulator.

I ran the Antenna to the Third brake light tray, and it fits well.

The position is not ideal, but I still have access to all the buttons and knobs, so it's not too bad. In any case, it's way better than this...

I tried that location and had a lot of drop outs. I have the antenna for my Roady 2 on the trunk lid behind the spoiler. Cable goes over the inner lip, under the truck lid interior cover, down the hinge, in thru the pass thru , behind the top of the rear seats(tucked in so it can't be seen), along the edge of the carpet tucked under the side molding, under the dash and there it is. No drop outs, never unless I loose the southern horizon.

Has anyone tried to integrat it into the cubby between the vents? Would probably be alot of work but would look good.

The SkyFi is too large to fit in the cubby with the docking cradle and all. The only one that will fit with little/no modification is Terk XM Commander. The Roady2 is close but no cigar. I did it with my Audiovox Xpress, but lost the cubby door. It is just a prototype with cardboard/leatherette, but I think the finished product will look good.

I prob could have hidden the wire completely by drilling a small hole in base of the brake light plate, but it would have doubled the time it took me to do everything.

Dude, how about mounting inside the trunk? Don't know if it affects the signal.
