tdelker
Has anyone gotten an iphone 5 to work with the subaru ipod add-on kit for the 2008-2009 models using the lightning to 30 adapter? So far I haven't had any luck. 4th gen nano works fine with it's native 30 pin, but the iphone 5 does not. Sometimes it is 'attached' although not all the time, but when I hit play, it just pauses it immediately. Never a peep from the speakers. I exchanged the lightning to 30 pin cable adapter, but that didn't help. Thanks for any help! Tom
revned
I've had the same problem with the 4S and 5. I've been wanting to try one of these, but just haven't done it yet: http://www.gromaudio.com/store/aux_adapters/subaru_05-09_aux-in_mp3_bluetooth_ipod_iphone_adapter.html#compatibility http://www.pac-audio.com/productDetails.aspx?ProductId=916&CategoryID=
revned
You also might try restarting the phone while it's plugged in. I haven't tried that with the 5, but I seem to remember having decent success with that workaround with the 4S: https://discussions.apple.com/thread/3400592
tdelker
Thanks for the reply! I did try restarting the iphone while plugged in, no change. I have decided to go with the PAC cable IS75 ($31 from amazon [ame=http://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B001TH8O7E/ref=oh_details_o00_s00_i00?ie=UTF8&psc=1]Amazon.com: iSimple PolyWire Car Radio RCA Audio Connector Cable for iPhone or iPod, IS75: MP3 Players & Accessories[/ame] ) and hard wire it to the aux connector and power from the car. The PAC solution you linked to is probably the next best thing, and I imagine that if it doesn't support the iphone 5, they would update firmware so it will, but I think I've given up and just want something to work. The cable I'm buy clearly says it is compatible with iphone 5 lightning to 30 pin cable on PAC's site: http://www.pac-audio.com/productDetails.aspx?ProductId=385&CategoryID=36 "Fully compatible with the lightning to 30-pin adapter" I just hope I don't get some weird old version from amazon! But you would think they would rev the part number if they made changes.
