Schrei Wolf
Up until yesterday my A/C system has been running fine. These past two days have also been very hot. The A/C unit runs after sitting all night but once it warms up it short cycles like it's low on refrigerant but that's not the case. Any thoughts on this? Strizzy
Are you running a FMIC? Did you recenty recharge your AC? My bad luck build
Schrei Wolf
No FMIC I recharged after it started short stroking.
Strizzy
It could be over-charged. My bad luck build
FJuan
Short cycles is an indication of low pressure in the system. - Low Freon - Bad compressor sensor - Bad compressor itself - Bad expansion valve My wife's balls are delicious.
Schrei Wolf
Would the valve cause excess pressure in the low side or high?
FJuan
If you have check the pressure and the pressure looks good, then more than likely it's the compressor that's going out. If the compressor is not compressing enough pressure on the high side, the system will read low pressure and start cycling as a safety switch. A train mechanic would be able to determine this. Schrei Wolf
When I say short stroke it attempts to engage the clutch then immediately stops. Not like a GM were it runs for a few seconds and stop.
Schrei Wolf
Update: So I got to engage for a bit and the low side went back to it's happy pressure spot. Sensor or sticking Expansion valve
Schrei Wolf
If one were to replace their A/C compressor, Denso or Four Seasons?
FJuan
My preference would be Denso, and I've even installed rebuilt ones for other cars off of Ebay and had good success. Depends on your comfort level and price, rebuilts would be you're cheapest route. My wife's balls are delicious.
starionesir
Would also say denso. Have you hooked up a set of gauges to check both high and low side pressures?
