jamaha51
The cap that holds the rods that move the windshield wipers popped off on the drivers side and is long gone. It holds the rod to the splined part of the wiper. I have looked at the online stores and opposedforces and nobody has a good exploded view that actually shows the cap. Idk if I am just dumb but can someone help find a part number or a place I can buy this.
spooln30
Wait am confused. Are you talking about the plastic cap that covers the nut that bolts the wiper arm to the wiper transmission? If that's the part your referring to you can either go to a junk yard or the dealer because auto part stores won't carry them to my knowledge. KuNomn
Weight reduction, don't worry about it. Or go to a junkyard. You won't find it for sale at any parts store
Stang70Fastback
You can probably find one in any department store parking lot, though I think that's illegal.
Zues Marine
http://static.opposedforces.com/epc_img/366494987001.png if youre talking about the front it's #9 above p/n 86538FA010 or 86538SA020 (alternative) http://opposedforces.com/parts/legacy/us_b11/type_8/body_equipment_exterior/wiper_windshilde/ if wagon p/n is 86538AA010 and #12 below http://static.opposedforces.com/epc_img/366494987101.png http://opposedforces.com/parts/legacy/us_b11/type_45/body_equipment_exterior/wiper_rear/
mnstrmech
forget those caps... just head to your hardware store and get a fancy-dancy stainless steel acorn nut to replace the regular nut, then ya wouldn't need that cap....
jamaha51
Actually what I am trying to say is the piece that holds the rod from the wiper motor to the actual wiper and the rod connecting the two wipers. Looking at the parts diagrams I bought a pivot cap and that is what you guys are talking about so no worries, I got a brand new one of those haha. mnstrmech
so your talking the actual wiper transmission?.. those are only available as whole units.... something that looks like this?..... http://img209.imageshack.us/img209/360/ac221280981.jpg Uploaded with ImageShack.us
Sludgeroo
I believe he is referring to the plasic cap ball joint guys that hold the stay rod and allow it to move. Unfortunately, the only way to replace this is a whole wiper arm ass'y.
jamaha51
What, that is such junk! No wonder all the parts diagram didnt show that piece separately though lol. None of the damn junkyards around here have much for Subarus either.
