afret
Thinking of buying a set of winter only tires and mounting them on steel wheels on my '13 Legacy 2.5 Premium. The car has the stock 215/50-17 tires and am planning to buy cheap wheels and go to the 205/60-16 that came on the base model for the winter to save some money. The tire diameters are supposed to be only about .2" different between the two sizes. Anyone know if there is any speedometer calibration difference between the base model and Premium to make up for the different tire diameters? Thanks. bluesuby
I'd be more concerned about the fitting of the wheels over the brakes. Not familiar with the 13 model....anyone know if 16s fit?

Yeah, the base model comes with 16" wheels.
Jack Giovo
Discount Tire site has a tire calculator under info center - and you just plug in the sizes and it will give you the difference in speed change

stevenva
The .2" size difference is so small. Sounds like you're concerned about the speedometer reading false. Don't sweat it. A difference that small would be like comparing 35 pounds vs 32 pounds PSI. RIP 96 Legacy 2.2 4EAT lost reverse @ 374,000 miles
