Baddog
I remember reading a thread where Subaru was outselling all other auto makers. Anyone have the link for this?
ShrinerMonkey
They are not outselling all other automakers. They were one of the only brands to see positive sales GROWTH even during the worst of the carpocalypse.
LosAngelesLGT
No one has a link to this because it NEVER HAPPENED.

jond_68
I think is was all the Legacy GT sales that added to this. I say this because you can't seem to find any at a dealership. They must be selling so fast that no one can keep them in stock.
fishbone
Subaru and Mini were the only 2 auto manufacturers which registered growth for a while, when all others had dipping sales, if that's what you mean by outselling. They did not outsell anyone in sheer volume, but they did and still do pretty good in terms of percentage growth.
BigT
I believe Buick had positive sales growth for a while too. That may have been more of a resurection than actual sales growth. Buick = Dead for a long long time, but they seem to be making a comeback
LosAngelesLGT
The ONLY auto mfr to report a reduction in sales in December in the USA was... drumroll... oh-oh-oh-oh-WHAT-A-FEELING TOYOTA.
The B4
Subaru and Mini were the only 2 auto manufacturers which registered growth for a while, when all others had dipping sales, if that's what you mean by outselling. They did not outsell anyone in sheer volume, but they did and still do pretty good in terms of percentage growth. For 2008, Subaru and Mini were the only brands up. Subaru was the only full line manufacturer up. For 2009, Subaru was one of three manufacturers up for the year (Hyundai and Kia were the others). Subaru had the largest % in increase over the prior year and also had their best year in the history of the company. (don't forget 2009 was the worst automotive year in 27 years) 2010 Lots of brands are up from an abysmal 2009, but Subaru set another record for its best year ever and blew away the previous record. fishbone
Ads will only get people in the dealer's lot but won't seal the deal on a sale. In other words it's not just thanks to ads that Subaru is selling cars. The cars happen to be pretty dang nice
