Fuel Consumption

Recommended Posts

Hey everyone.

I've just bought a 2005 Legacy Sportwagon 2.0GT, and I love it. Wanted one for years.

I've driven a fair amount of them and I know they're thirsty cars generally. I've been doing some stop start town driving (not in Sport mode) and I'm returning figures of 4.5km/litre which is about 2.48 miles to the litre. Overall that's 105mpg I think. I'm almost on half a tank and driving pretty conservatively. It seems pretty excessive, should I have it checked out? The car has just had its 125 000km service, so I'm a bit perplexed, but as I said these Boxers are thirsty so maybe I'm being uneccessarily paranoid.

Any advice would be welcome.

Cheers

We didn't get a 2.0GT in these parts in '05, all our Legacy's were 2.5L, NA and turbo. That said my 2.5i has averaged 11.1L/100km in the time I've had it.

Yours sounds really thirsty to me.

All 3 of my Legacy's a 98' 00' and the 05 and all gotten the same, about 23 mpg average.

which is 37.01491 kilometers to 3.785L

Does that sound right ?

305,600miles 5/2012 ej257 short block, 8/2011 installed VF52 turbo, @20.8psi, 280whp, 300ftlbs. (SOLD).  CHECK your oil, these cars use it.
