winnipegsubaru
Hey everyone, I am told by my local subaru dealer that one of my head gaskets is starting to seep. I have a 2006 Legacy 2.5i I did a search, and didnt really find what I was looking for. I would like to start a list of everyone who has a 05 - 09 Legacy gt or not that has had to replace there head gasket. So please post if your's has been replaced, who did it.. and maybe the cost associated. Added a simple poll to the thread. Thanks everyone,

StoplightAssassin
you sure it isn't the valve cover gasket? that's pretty common and not too bad of a fix
Max Capacity
Yep, ask him how he knows it's a HG and not a VC gasket. Big cost difference to you. 305,600miles 5/2012 ej257 short block, 8/2011 installed VF52 turbo, @20.8psi, 280whp, 300ftlbs. (SOLD). CHECK your oil, these cars use it. winnipegsubaru
My car only has 130000 km's so about 81000 miles... It seemed to early to me as well. And unfortunatly this is the only authorised dealer within about 5 hours of me.
StoplightAssassin
it wouldn't be hard to see if it was the VCG. the VCG is all the way at the "top" of the heads (closest to the frame rails). you'd see a darkened wet area
