johnegg
ALL, ALL the cam seals in the 90s are the same. the only difference is some have 4 and some have 2.
I Donated broknindarkagain Posted August 23, 2011 I Donated Share Posted August 23, 2011 I thought there was a difference in size between the DOHC and SOHC seals -broknindarkagain My Current Project - Click Here COME AND TAKE IT "The only thing necessary for the triumph of evil is for good men to do nothing." johnegg
the actual cam oil seals are all the same, it's just the ej25 has 4 not 2 and the ej22 has ''cam cap o-rings''. this is because the the ej22 cam shaft rides in the head, not bolted to it. for confirmation http://www.subarupartsforyou.com/cp_partlistbymod.php?model=Legacy&subcat=Engine+Parts%2C+Oil+Seals&year=1997

I Donated broknindarkagain Posted August 24, 2011 I Donated Share Posted August 24, 2011 Make sure you take the spark plugs out when you do it, or else you will be fighting against the compression of the engine. As well, if you have the money buy a new timing kit and water pump. Not 100% needed but if you can you might as well do it while you're in there. For the timing stuff, you can look up on Google how to do it. There are countless guides on how to do it -broknindarkagain My Current Project - Click Here COME AND TAKE IT "The only thing necessary for the triumph of evil is for good men to do nothing."
