E85 or sgt.2 5th gen?

Came up at the casino and have around 1k to spend towards the car. So looking to go with the e85 conversion -or- tmic + dp. For the $ wondering what would be the best direction to go with a good tune? I like the idea of 85 because of its higher restriction to knocking out on me, and I feel a safer rought to run more boost. On the other hand I know that the stock tmic is extremely restrictive and have seen good #'s with racerX's set-up.

Now I have more than enough flex fuel stations in the area so that wouldn't be an issue. Think both would def be fun, especially when I combine the two in the future:) any tuning experience with either type of tunes please share. Much appreciated!

Unless you're doing it yourself either of those items is going to require a tune. For e85 you'd need fuel pump and injectors at a minimum (might not be a bad idea to add afr gauge). That will be your $1k spent after tune.

For the other setup you're looking at $800 for the TMIC and then $500 for the tune which is a little over your $1k before you add the DP you mentioned.

I'd recommend keeping the TMIC and going with a TBE and tune with your $1k (even that might break the budget).

Yeah prob going keep the cbe stock as I dont really want to attract more attention than I already do haha. N was thinkn a racerX tmic- 600 and an invidia dp. Around 400 if I go catless. After a tune ill be above 1k but that's cool.

What do you consider a stg. 2? I'm just not getting exhaust.

Definitely go E85, I've been running it for 85k and love it. Here's what I would get if I had to do it all over:

Used Perrin/Avo TMIC- $500-600

DW65 fuel pump- $150

DW injectors (740's or 850's)- $550

Sti Uppipe- $85 (You don't need this)

Invidia catless DP- $300

Grimmspeed gasket- $15

e-Tune by cryo- $150

I bought every part on this list (except gaskets) used, which saved me a lot of money. Just make sure used injectors are flow-tested.

Don't buy cheapo parts as you will spend as much money as you saved fixing, modifying, returning or otherwise getting rid of crap parts.(http://legacygt.com/forums/showthread.php/review-fms-and-other-knock-off-parts-181111.html?t=181111&highlight=knock-off+brands)

Buy a used avo (500) and a used catless downpipe. (150-200).

Tsudo makes a catless downpipe for 180$ shipped. I have it on my car, identical to an invidia catless without the invidia logo and fitment is spot on.

Tsudo 08+ Wrx/Sti downpipe is the same as 05-09 lgt.

None of this will fit on OP's car.

Guessing you already have an AP. Go with the down pipe and tmic, that will fit your budget. getting supporting mods for e85 will be much, much more. You'll want both of the above mods if you're going e85, plus more (injectors, fuel pump, ect).
