jarmerson
I'm used to running 93 and the first tank for my subie was 93. In the day I ran 87 through my civics and now I'm used to the extra penny. I have very stock ej22 - any suggestions on wether its worth running 93? Also how can I tell if I have ej222 or 221? Thanks! jarmerson
From my brief review of the wiki it seems neither. Ej22e? Phase 1 and 2 are turbo? Hemingway
Should be a tag on the right side of the engine compartment (says 'Fuji Heavy Industries' on it) that tells you the engine model. Oh, and I have never run anything other than 87 octane.

mwiener2
If you have turbo, 91oct recommended. If you have non-turbo 87 recommended. If you don't know run 91, or 89 if you're cheap. jarmerson
non-turbo. Was used to running 93 in my bimmer - apparently no difference in the subie so I save a few bones. 87 is $3.89 here!
