sealoss
my timing belt starts to screech when i hit 5000 rpm on fast accelerations, im guessing this is just the friction from the belt, can this be something else?
SLegacy99
Screeching? Not sure that's your timing belt.
BAC5.2
It could be your timing belt. A bad tensioner lets the timing belt slide on the pulley and make noise. This is very bad. Check the accessory belts first. carnumber19
Accessory belts, like said above, are the most likely culprit, whatever you do, DON'T put the "belt dressing" on them, it will stop the squealing very temporarily, but ultimately your better served replacing the belts. If it IS your timing belt squealing; 1.) Stop revving to 5k 2.) Go get that thing replaced asap.
johnegg
if the accessory belts have been recently replaced they may just need adjusting. if they are old , adjusting may help, probably will short term, but i would have replacements on hand. just in case.
