i tried a set of wheels on my 06 LGT before i installed Tein H-Techs that where 17x7 w/42mm offset. the offset was not enough even at stock height, tires where just outside of fender wells actually looked wrong. went to a wheel with 48mm offset. perfect, can't believe 12mm makes that much difference but it does. looks factory now. i know the 42mm offset will rub fenders if it is lowered at least in my experience. only thing i would suggest is wheels with min. 48mm offset or more. bosco

You definately need a higher positive offset (or spacers at this point). I'm running 18x7.5 rims and I have H-techs as well without any rubbage whatsoever. At least +45, and even that may be close in some instances.

spacers will only make it worse. moving wheel the wrong way. bosco

How much clearance do you have over the brake calipers ?

If the design of the wheels allows, you could machine 5mm from the inside mating surface of the wheel hub.............but it's probably easier to roll the fenders.

machine 5mm off the inside surface of the wheel  your joking right?

Ok, STOP a second... For those of us who are new to the Legact, I have a question... I read the STICKY post about wheels and tires and I guess I don't understand offset...

If stock is +55, what offset is REALLY acceptable?

I've seen some posts say any offset is fine with other adjustments.

I've seen others say that if I don't get within plus or minus 5 from the OEM offset, I'll destroy my wheel bearings and have suspension issues...

I see this one where we are talking the area of +40 and +42 ...

The sticky post lists things from +34 to +60 depending on wheel diameter . . . .

Can anyone see why I am confused?

I just got an 07 Legacy GT Spec.b ... I hate the silver wheels. I think a good chrome or shiny polished look would be SO much better than the stock, "FLAT SILVER" look ... One person at the dealership said I could safely go as low as +48... At +48 I don't find much that I like . . .

Anyone see why I am so confused?? Can anyone give an assist?
